Always check BOE policy for action steps moving forward

Involve SRO or police in absence of SRO, if necessary

Contact and inform BOE

Ascertain absence of injury, call ambulance if necessary

Separate all students

Call parents of injured student, then call all other students’ parents involved

Begin investigation with fighters and witnesses

Suspend students per the Code of Conduct

Increase hallway supervision as needed–emotions running hot after a fight

Contact teachers to collect work for suspended student(s)

Debrief with Administrative Team when possible

Ensure appropriate suspension letter has been sent home to parents of suspended student

Contact the BOE regarding outcomes or updates
